Our children need support as they
face a world of technological,
educational and social change in their lives. They will face challenges an opportunities we never dreamed of, but they will also face enormous pressure and competition. The Lane Cove Public School Foundation want to provide that support. Children who attend Lane Cove Public School enjoy the fruits of many past generations' labour. Our reputation for music excellence, our high level of sporting achievements and our academic record have been built progressively for over a century. Schools are now increasingly responsible for their own financial future. Our children need a safety net to ensure the qualities and opportunities offered at Lane Cove Public School o not diminish. Continuing support is needed to provide resources of communication, music, the arts, sport, the library, technology, special learning needs, buildings and grounds. The Lane Cove Public School Foundation wants to provide that safety net. What is the Foundation? The Foundation is a non-profit body made up of individuals and organisations who have an interest in the school's future. The word 'foundation' means just that, a strong, solid base where support is provided for steady growth. It can be depended upon not just for day-to-day needs, but for long-term projects and for continued commitment to the future of our children and ultimately our community. What are its goals? Our first target is to establish a capital base to provide for the renewal of existing facilities and future growth. Expenditure by The Foundation will be determined by the priorities set by the School Council. Choosing to be part of our Foundation shows commitment and vision on your part, and enables you to be part of the school community. What are our needs? We are a school with an academic tradition of over a century. However, if we are going to provide future generations of children with the opportunities to carry them through the 21st century, then we need to provide the resources for them now. How do I participate? Membership is open to ex-students and staff, families, companies and professional firms, as well community groups. You can be a member even if you have no children at the school, but would like to see an educational environment flourish. If you are an ex-student, you may also want to keep in touch with your old school. To become a member for 10 years, please fill in the attached form and post with your payment of $100. Alternatively to become a life member, you may leave a bequest to The Foundation. To arrange this, please send in the form attached to the pamphlet or call (02) 9427 0724 and we will mail to you further information or organise a personal visit.
